An Oklahoma teenager died in a horrific accident on his way to a Kansas City Chiefs game after his mother, who was injured, surprised him with tickets.
Connor Barba, 18, of Norman, was driving to the game with his mother Megan Barnett, 41, on Saturday when a Camaro hit them head-on. Kansas Highway Patrol report stated.
Joseph Savage, 45, of Mortuary, crashed into the mother-son duo after driving into oncoming traffic for an “unknown reason” around 4 p.m., according to police.
The pair were on their way to a Kansas City Chiefs game after Barnett surprised her son with tickets for his upcoming birthday. GoFundMewhich has raised nearly $95,000, revealed.

‘You will always remain in our hearts! Your crazy ass!” his father, Ted Barba, wrote further Facebook.
Barnett is currently in intensive care in Tulsa and will require “extensive recovery,” the fundraiser said. Her condition is currently stable.
Both Barba and Savage were pronounced dead at the scene. A third driver involved was not injured, according to police.
Barba’s uncle Colin told KOKO that the young boy had swerved to avoid Savage’s vehicle and hit the brakes, causing his side to take the brunt of the hit.
Colin credits Barba’s quick thinking as the reason Barnett is still alive.
The uncle also said the couple was looking forward to the football match for several reasons.

“He really wanted to see Baker Mayfield play, and Megan, I think, wanted to see the Chiefs play, probably the connection with Taylor Swift,” he told KOKO.
He remembers Barba as an “excellent young man” who had “a lot of light.”
“He had an incredible amount of joy and an incredible smile,” he told the outlet. “Especially for his age, he was incredibly mature and respectful.”
Barba’s father has posted several photos of his son on Facebook since his death, writing in a post, “He had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew! I love you, Connor Barba!!”
