OJ Simpson has died at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer.
The actor and murder suspect died on Wednesday evening surrounded by his family at his home in Las Vegas.
An X-post shared by his family on his official account read: “On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.
‘He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
“During this period of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpson family.’
Simpson became one of the most infamous figures in America after he was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.
He was later acquitted of the murders.
Simpson, a former football star who played 11 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, reinvented himself as an actor before the murders of Brown and Goldman.
