OJ Simpson was spotted strolling the streets of Las Vegas with a cane, 28 years after he was acquitted of murder in the trial of the century.

The 76-year-old former NFL running back appeared somber as he wore dark slippers at a strip mall on Sunday, holding his cane in one hand and his phone in the other.

He also wore black and white sweatpants and a jacket with a cream polo underneath to complete his look.

In October, Simpson looked barely recognizable as he donned a polo from his college team – the University of Southern California (USC) – and ran errands around Sin City.

Two months earlier, in August, Simpson raised eyebrows after publicly criticizing the criminal conviction of former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs. He even compared it to his own prison sentence for armed robbery in 2008.

The 1973 NFL MVP said he was stunned when Ruggs, 24, was given a three- to 10-year prison sentence despite causing the death of a 23-year-old woman after driving at more than 150 mph in November 2021 drove for an hour along a Las Vegas strip.

“The calculations just don't add up,” said Simpson, who was locked up for nine years after trying to steal sports memorabilia he claims was his from a Las Vegas hotel room with a gun in September 2007.

“I know I went to college on a football scholarship, but somehow this math doesn't add up,” he continued.

Simpson wasn't the only one who believed Ruggs may have gotten off lightly for his role in the November 2021 crash that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.

At one time, the former Las Vegas Raiders star could have spent 50 years behind bars, but in May he reached a plea deal to plead guilty to one felony count of driving under the influence.

Simpson was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman in a famous trial that was televised around the world in 1995.

Hours after the verdict was read in the same courthouse where he was convicted fourteen years ago, Simpson shared his thoughts on the legal proceedings with his 900,000 followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“You drive a car at like 160 miles per hour on a public road and end up killing a girl and her dog and you get three to 10 years?” Simpson said, pointing out Ruggs' crime.

Comparing it to his own arrest, he said, “You go to a hotel room, which you were invited to, to retrieve your own personal stolen property – property that I now have because the State of California ruled it was mine – and you gets nine to 33 years?'

“Same courthouse, same city, same state. Don't know. Somehow it just doesn't make sense to me…I'm just saying,” he finished.

Once a popular figure with the American public, Simpson's professional success was overshadowed by his trial and controversial acquittal for the murders of his former wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.
