A teenage girl from Ohio died in a bizarre manner after walking barefoot outside her home, more than five years after her brother died of cancer at age 11.

Emergency responders say Olivia Bright, 17, was electrocuted when she entered a camper in the yard of her family’s East Toledo home around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters blamed faulty wiring in an empty lot outside her home and the fact that the yard was still wet from a recent storm. according to WTOL.

Bright was then taken to a local hospital with burns to her right hand while in cardiac arrest. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

But her mother has doubts about the cause of her teenage daughter’s death.

β€œAll I know is Toledo Edison restored my power, they restored my electricity,” said Olivia’s mother, Kimberly Bright, told 13 ABC.

She also noted that police found no charred spots on the RV door, as it was not plugged in.

The family will now contact the coroner for an official cause of death.

“I just want to know how my daughter died. Those are the answers I want,” Kimberly said.

Meanwhile, the Brights are still reeling from the unexpected loss of the teenager, who was just months away from her 18th birthday.

They describe Olivia as a difficult girl, but overall she was a nice girl who was outspoken, loved music – especially Carrie Underwood – and was well-liked.

“It’s hard,” Kimberly said of her daughter’s passing. “Five and a half years ago, I buried my son Brandon. He was 11 years old. He died of glioblastoma.

“Now I have to make arrangements for my daughter Olivia.”

A online fundraising was set up to help the family with funeral arrangements. She notes, “This is incredibly difficult for our family as we lost her brother to brain cancer in 2019 at the age of 11.”
