Offset reveals it is too ‘hard’ for him to discuss the death of his Migos bandmate Takeoff

Rapper Offset graces this week’s cover Variety and he dives deep into the things that occupy his mind these days.

Of his Migos bandmate and first cousin who once removed Takeoff’s death, he admitted, “It’s hard for me to talk about sh*t right now. I’ve never talked about this stuff before. Serious. It’s hard to talk about Take, man.

That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That hurts. For example, it will put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood,” he explained.

Some things I never tell anyone. He’s not here. That feels fake, mate,” he said. “I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t tell anyone about it.’

Takeoff died on November 1 after being shot multiple times in the head and torso outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas.

He also talked about strong women and how his wife Cardi B is his “bestie.”

The Ghostface Killers rapper, 31, also spoke to the outlet about the impact strong women — including his mother who raised him without his father — have had in his life.

“I just feel like a woman’s aesthetic is different than a man’s,” he explained. “A woman can take you somewhere you might not be able to go on your own.

‘You always need that guidance, like from that mother or that grandmother. That’s my key to my push and my drive. Strong women will put you in strong places.”

Speaking of strong women, the Shoot My Shot singer also did it to his wife of nearly six years, rapper Cardi B, 30.

The couple’s first date was during the 2017 Super Bowl and they got married in September of the same year.

They welcomed their daughter, Kulture, in 2018 and their son, Wave, in 2021. The Wap singer is also stepmom to Offset’s three other children, Jordan, 12, and Kalea and Kody, eight.

‘My best friend!’ he gushed about his wife. “She always supported me, right or wrong. We both have the same mission to make each other better.’

“Social is her forte, so I listen to her social advice. And me, it’s the music, but I play behind the scenes; it’s my wife so I want to make sure she wins,” he added.

“We are a great team,” he continues. “We are a powerhouse right now – icon status. We believe in God. We believe in family. We will always keep winning.’

And the feeling is mutual, with the Bodak Yellow singer telling Variety, “What I appreciate about my husband is that no matter what problem I have personally or professionally, I know that he will take care of me and our family.

She added, “It’s done. I know I have a man who really stands behind me. I fully support him in this next chapter of his music career.”
