Obama’s public statement of support for Joe Biden is ‘disingenuous’ and he favors an ‘open convention’ to replace the president who ‘can’t win’ claims Tucker Carlson
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed Monday that former President Barack Obama is being “disingenuous” in his public support for President Joe Biden to retain the White House race.
The 81-year-old Biden’s performance during Thursday’s presidential debate terrified Democrats, who gave fumbled answers and sounded weak and confused.
Carlson, who hosts an interview show on X, said on the platform overnight that he got his information from an “unusually good source.”
“Obama’s tweet endorsing Joe Biden was disingenuous,” Carlson wrote. “In private, Obama is telling people Biden can’t win, which is why he supports an open convention.”
“Obama won’t say who he’s endorsing, and as of yesterday afternoon he had not met with Biden in person to deliver the message,” Carlson continued.
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson floated a theory on X Monday night, saying that former President Barack Obama is not as supportive of President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign as he may appear.
Carlson said that behind closed doors, “Obama is telling people that Biden can’t win, and that’s why he’s in favor of an open convention.” The former Fox News host also blamed first lady Jill Biden for keeping her husband away from people who would tell him to back off.
Biden traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina, shortly after the debate and gave a much more energetic performance, defending his decision to stay in the race.
“Folks, I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as fluently as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to.”
“But I know what I know — I know how to tell the truth. I know what’s right and wrong. And I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done,” the president argued.
Biden spent most of the weekend fundraising in New York and New Jersey.
The president returned to Camp David, where he had been away for a week preparing for the debate, and is expected to return to the White House late Monday night.
Carlson said that “relations between the Obamas and the Bidens have never been cordial.”
“At times they were hostile,” the former Fox News host added. “But recently they’ve become even more aggravated, particularly by Jill Biden.”

“In the hours and days after the debate, she kept her husband at arm’s length from anyone who might convince him to drop out,” Carlson alleged. “Jill Biden is the driving force behind her husband’s reelection campaign, just as she was in 2020, when other family members (including Biden’s sister Val) thought he was too weak to run.”
“The next generation of potential Democratic candidates sees this as an opportunity and they are rallying around it, particularly Gretchen Whitmer, who is aggressively promoting herself,” Carlson added.
On Friday, Obama endorsed Biden, noting that “there are bad debate nights.”
The Democrat said the election was still a “choice between someone who has spent his life fighting for ordinary people and someone who only cares about himself.”
While the New York Times editorial board wrote an op-ed saying Biden should withdraw, Obama did not do so at all.
However, there are also reports of rifts between the two prominent Democratic families.

Three of the Bidens’ seven grandchildren are Kathleen’s, but they have largely kept her out of the family after she divorced Hunter when he was addicted to crack.
