Obama and Trump White House doctor-turned-Republican congressman is falsely ‘HOLD’ at Texas rodeo after assisting 15-year-old girl with medical emergency

- In a “very loud and chaotic environment,” police failed to realize that Jackson was a doctor trying to help a 15-year-old who had an emergency
- Jackson was both a White House physician for Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump and is now a vocal political ally of Trump’s
Rep. Ronny Jackson, who served as a White House doctor for Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, was “temporarily detained” by police as he attempted to help a 15-year-old who had a medical emergency at a rodeo on Saturday night.
The Texas Tribune reported that Monday that amid a “very loud and chaotic environment,” police erroneously detained Jackson, who had been summoned to provide medical assistance.
A statement from the congressman’s office said that Jackson had “sat in the stands, in full view of the assembled crowd, and not drink” during the entire rodeo.
Jackson was “called on by someone in the crowd to help a 15-year-old girl who had a medical emergency nearby.” When he came to the patient, her relative, a nurse, was already helping her, but said she needed help.
“While assessing the patient in a very loud and chaotic environment, confusion arose with law enforcement officials on the scene and Dr. Jackson was briefly detained and effectively prevented from further assisting the patient,” the statement said.

“He was immediately released once the police realized that he was a medical professional attending to the young girl’s medical emergency,” it continued.
Local sheriff Tam Terry told the Texas Tribune that one person was “temporarily detained” as authorities responded to a call at a Saturday night concert at the White Deer Rodeo, 40 miles outside of Amarillo.
Terry did not name Jackson in his statement.
He said the department is “studying the incident.”
Until then, no participants are named, the sheriff said.
Jackson has enjoyed a colorful career in Washington, first as Obama’s physician, then serving Trump, who has become a political ally.
Jackson was appointed head of the Veterans Administration by Trump in March 2018, but his nomination fell apart after reports emerged that he overprescribed drugs to White House staff.

For that reputation, he was nicknamed the “candy man.”

Trump withdrew his nomination less than a month after appointing Jackson to the post.
In December 2019, he entered a congressional race to represent a conservative part of Texas.
He won his seat in November 2020 and won re-election last year.
With his medical background, Jackson has become a thorn in President Joe Biden’s side, suggesting the 80-year-old must undergo a cognitive test to stay in office.
