Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher’s ‘Silver Sparkle’ guitar sells at auction for up to £500,000 – and Wonderwall’s handwritten lyrics could go for £6,000
Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher’s custom ‘Silver Sparkle’ guitar will sell for half a million pounds in a memorabilia auction on Friday.
The Gibson Les Paul Florentine Guitar is just one of many iconic pieces of music history up for sale at the Propstore Entertainment auction taking place in London from November 3-6.
Noel described the guitar as “the best in the world” and was used extensively for recording and live performance in 1997 and 1998.

It is one of his most important guitars of the Oasis era and is regarded as ‘the most widely used and documented Noel Gallagher guitar outside of his personal collection’. It also comes with a white ‘Oasis’ stencil on the protective cover.
Also up for grabs are the written lyrics of their hit ballad Wonderwall written by Noel, 55, which could set the lucky bidder back by around £6,000.
The 1995 song is probably the most popular among the other handwritten lyrics by the Manchester rock band being sold.
This includes Champagne Supernova, the final track on the band’s second album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?.

There are also other different instruments available in the London auction which will take place online from Friday afternoon.
One of Liam Gallagher’s iconic olive green parka coats, at a concert in London’s Finsbury Park, on June 29, 2013, is estimated to fetch around £15,000.
The standout ‘Fake London Genius’ piece also features several cartoon images, Cashmere patches sewn onto the jacket including a trophy, lion, crown and map of the UK.

A tarnished metal zip runs down the front of the jacket and the hood also has a similar zip in the middle.
The practice notes the Oasis guitarist uses to memorize the words of the 1995 hit are part of a music and movie auction starting this afternoon.
Other entertainment industry stuff up for grabs is the Bedford ice cream truck that Britpop band Blur used on their Magic Whip tour in 2015.
Another piece that is likely to be highly sought after is the 1970 license for Elvis Presley’s Colt revolver and a Beretta automatic pistol.
