NYT Strands Today (Game #309) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #309, are…
- CREAM
- IVORY
- LINEN
- VANILLA
- EGG-SHELL
- CHAMPAGNE
- SPANGRAM: OFF WHITE
- My rating: Simple
- My score: Perfect
The classic song from the sixties Whiter shade of pale by Procol Harum was stuck in my head as I worked my way through this boring collection of words that I most often encounter when trying to buy white paint that isn’t white.
The song has even been used several times as the soundtrack for TV commercials advertising whitish paint.
Although I had trouble remembering the words outside of the chorus – something about doing a ‘light fandango’ (which would be a great name for a paint color), ‘colouring her hair’, ’16 Vestal Virgins’ and seeing of a spirit and turning a light shade of VANILLA. Only one of them was useful for this puzzle.
How did you do today? Send me an email and let me know.
