NYT Strands Today (Game #51) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #51, are…
- PECAN
- BUTTER
- FLOUR
- SALTY
- SYRUP
- SUGAR
- VANILLA
- SPANGRAM: INGREDIENTS
- My score: Difficult
- My score: Perfect
Once again I struggled with a Strands puzzle due to lack of knowledge of the theme. I’ve had pecan pie, but I’m not much into baking (I do make a mean curry) and since I’m from the UK rather than the US, I don’t have much of a cultural sense of what is a staple of American kitchen.
For that reason, I found it difficult to find all the answers, even though it was clear what kind of words I needed. Some – FLOUR and SUGAR, for example – were pretty obvious, but I had no idea SYRUP or VANILLA were among them. And where are the EGGS – they are necessary, right? Like I said, I’m no expert…
