NYT Strands Today (Game #62) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #62, are…
- PSYCHO
- POLTERGEIST
- HALLOWEEN
- INN
- SCREAM
- SPANGRAM: SCARY MOVIE
- My score: Simple
- My score: Perfect
This was a fairly simple Strands puzzle. Part of that was because the theme was something close to my heart, which was horror films. I looked at all the answers, and many more, which certainly helped me solve the problem. But it also took advantage of some of the letter placement, which made it easier to find the words. Take PSYCHO in the bottom left corner: in that corner of the board there is a grid of six consonants, meaning the ways in which the letters can be combined have been drastically reduced. I was therefore able to find that answer with little difficulty, which – together with the theme hint of ‘The Horror’ – confirmed what I was looking for. After that, the task was just a matter of racking my brain for classic horror films. POLTERGEIST was the only somewhat difficult one, simply because I couldn’t spell it…
