If you need some help, you can find it below in the form of some tips, and I also have the Strands answers and my commentary on the game if you just want to see them.

The answers to today’s Strands, game #69, are…

  • TUXEDO
  • CORSAGE
  • DANCE
  • DRESS
  • COURT
  • BOUTONNIERE
  • SPANGRAM: PROMNIGHT

  • My score: Moderate
  • My score: Perfect

I’m only marking this one as moderate because here in the UK prom night isn’t really a thing, or at least it wasn’t when I was growing up. So my experience with it comes almost entirely from watching American TV and movies, and unfortunately “bucket of pig’s blood falling on the prom queen” wasn’t on the list.

Fortunately, PROMNIGHT itself, the spangram, was easy enough to find, and most of the others were relatively straightforward. That said, if BOUTONNIERE wasn’t on its own at the bottom of the board under PROMNIGHT, I wouldn’t have had any chance of finding it; I’ve literally never heard that word before.

How did you do today? Send me an email and let me know.
