NYC judge recuses herself from child custody case after mom claims she tried to woo her on swingers app with messages saying she loves ‘thick girls’ and men ‘somewhat endowed’

  • Judge Cynthia Lopez, 47, recused herself from Sidney Southerland’s case on Monday
  • The mother of two claims the judge contacted her via the swingers app 3Fun
  • Southerland produced a post with a profile featuring the judge’s photo, saying she was looking for “hot sexy fun” with other couples

A New York judge has withdrawn from a custody case after a mother claimed she tried to hit on her through a swinger app.

Sidney Southerland produced a message allegedly sent to her by judge Cynthia Lopez, 47, on 3Fun, an app for “sexually free singles.”

Her alleged profile included a photo of the judge in a skimpy dress and heels and stated that she was part of a couple who were “looking for some hot sexy fun” with other couples.

Lopez withdrew from Southerland’s custody hearing Monday in a brief virtual conference call with her attorneys.

It came after Southerland claimed Lopez contacted her on Jan. 24, gave her name “Cynthia” and asked how she was doing.

Southerland claimed she recognized the judge in racy photos used on the profile during their numerous court exchanges

The profile listed her as bisexual and said she was in a partnership with a man known as “Ant.”

“We are a full swap (couple) in an (ethical non-monogamy) dynamic and want to have some hot sexy fun with other full swap (couples) and single ladies,” the profile reads.

‘We love fat girls as much as we love little girls! Ultimately, it’s all about personality. At most, boys should be stocky and I, the woman, prefer males to be somewhat endowed.’

Southerland said she immediately recognized the photo on the profile and replied: “B****, you know who the f*ck I am” before she was quickly blocked.

The mother said she first encountered Lopez in court in February 2022 and has seen her virtually and in person several times since.

She said she was stunned when she came across the profile.

“She wears lingerie, she lies on the couch and wears heels, she has a long list of everything about her that you can read. I know it’s her because I’ve seen her in court before,” Southerland said.

Southerland posted about the situation on TikTok and X, sharing photos of the profile and the message she received. The messages caught the attention of child protective services, who then apparently sent an email to the court suggesting the mother posed a “legal threat” to Lopez.

Southerland’s children, Saniya, now 9, and Saint, 4, were taken by the city’s Children’s Services Administration in February 2022.

The removal occurred after police stormed her mother’s Bronx apartment on July 28, 2021, and arrested Southerland, according to a lawsuit she filed against police in September 2022 saying they had no probable cause.

Over the years, she has had several brushes with the law and advocacy found guilty of assault three times between 2015 and 2017. In both cases, she was given mental health treatment or probation.

Southerland’s complaint was referred by ACS to the Office of Court Administration.

“Given that the court had been notified of and considered this matter, it would be imprudent to comment further at this time,” OCS spokesman Al Baker said.

Lopez declined to comment on the New York Post and directed all questions to the OCA.

Lopez was appointed to the Bronx County Family Court on June 14, 2021.

She is a member of the Latino Judge’s Association, the New York City Family Court Judge’s Association and the New York State Judge’s Association. Judge Lopez also serves on the Family Court Advisory and Rules Committee.

She will be replaced in the custody case by Judge Fiordaliza A. Rodriguez, according to Southerland’s attorney, George Gilmer.

DailyMail.com has contacted the NY Courts and the ACS for comment.
