Who needs a dentist? NY Islanders Brock Nelson pulls out his TOOTH while he’s sitting on the bench and gives it to a coach after being hit by a rogue stick…and then immediately returns to the ice!

New York Islanders center Brock Nelson pulled a tooth while sitting on the bench during Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs after a stick struck him in the face.

Nelson fell to the ice before stopping and clutching his face momentarily. After heading to the bank, the cameras panned to him when he realized his tooth was barely sticking out.

He used his bare hands to remove the tooth directly from his mouth and handed it over to an Islanders staff member.

Nelson decided to take matters into his own hands by pulling out a tooth before immediately springing back into action.

Nelson’s good play on the ice this season has earned him an All-Star nod despite the Islanders’ patchy season.

Through 49 games played this season, Nelson has registered 17 goals and 25 assists to account for a total of 42 points.

Despite their strong season, the Islanders have currently clinched a 23-21-5 record for just 51 total points.

Nelson’s odd moment of amateur dentistry turned out to be all for naught in the end, as the Islanders were beaten 5-2 by Toronto, to solidify another poor finish for an Islanders team currently set to miss the playoffs.

“Our details and our awareness cost us,” Islanders coach Lane Lambert said. “We absolutely have to get over that and clean it up.”

The Islanders’ next matchup will be against the Ottawa Senators.
