NUS Medicine introduces holographic GI module

The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine) has collaborated with GigXR, a California-based holographic healthcare training provider, to introduce a new mixed reality-based (MR) training module for the treatment and diagnosis of acute gastrointestinal diseases.

GigXR’s HoloScenarios: Gastrointestinal module on the Gig Immersive Learning Platform presents a holographic simulation of a clinical setting with patients, medical equipment, instructors and learners. It will provide simulated scenarios for gastrointestinal pathologies, including gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction and chronic liver failure, in complex and potentially critical situations.

The module, which will be launched next year, has been developed in collaboration with NUS Medicine GI surgery and holographic medical training specialists. Since last year, NUS Medicine has been using holographic technology to supplement medical education Project Polaris with Microsoft.


Fujitsu and Toppan are committed to big data analytics

Japanese companies Fujitsu and Toppan have entered into a business alliance to provide advanced big data analytics services to hospital organizations and pharmaceutical companies.

According to a press statement, Toppan will combine its analytical expertise with Fujitsu’s data cleansing capabilities to introduce SaaS analytics services that leverage anonymized EMR data.

NalaGenetics participates in Indonesia’s national genomics program
