Nuggets stars play Rock Paper Scissors with young fan while clash with the Celtics is delayed

A delay in the game prompted some Denver Nuggets stars to start playing another one as teams worked to repair the edge of a basketball net.

The delay occurred during Denver’s game against the Boston Celtics after a monster dunk by Robert Williams deflected the rim in a different direction.

It caused the rim to become uneven, forcing the officials to pause the game and let the teams level the basket. The game was paused for around 40 minutes to ensure the repairs would work.

The delay came as a result of this monstrous dunk from Robert Williams, which doubled the rim.

During that time, journeyman center DeAndre Jordan saw a young fan sitting on the baseline holding a sign that read, “Rock-paper-scissors for shoes.”

Jordan complied and the two played best two out of three for player kicks, all while people were working the nets behind them.

We don’t see what either person threw, but judging by the reaction of guard Christian Braun, who watched Jordan, it looks like the kid has earned himself a new pair of shoes.

Once play resumed, the Celtics were unable to recover, and the Nuggets won 123-111.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic had another triple-double, adding 30 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 30 points and eight rebounds.

Boston has lost four of its last eight games as its lead in the Eastern Conference has been cut to just 1 1/2 games ahead of the second-place Brooklyn Nets.

After play resumed and the rim was fixed, the Nuggets sealed their win over Boston.
