Nuclear war is ‘inevitable’ conclusion to Ukrainian invasion, warns Russian general who wrote country’s ‘war bible’
- Russian Major General Alexander Vladimirov warned that nuclear war was “inevitable.”
Nuclear war is the “inevitable” conclusion of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, warned a Russian general who wrote the country’s “war bible.”
The chilling prediction came from retired Major General Alexander Vladimirov, who wrote the three-volume Russian book called the “General Theory of War.”
“The transition to the use of weapons of mass destruction requires only one thing: a political decision by the Supreme Commander (Vladimir Putin),” the veteran commander warned in an interview with journalist Vladislav Shurygin.
“The goals of Russia and the goals of the West are their survival and historical eternity.
“And this means that in the name of this all available means of armed struggle will be used, including such an instrument as their nuclear weapons.”
He warned, “I am sure that nuclear weapons will inevitably be used in this war, and neither we nor the enemy can get out of this.

The chilling prediction came from retired Major General Alexander Vladimirov, who wrote the three-volume Russian book called the “General Theory of War.”
“The sooner our politicians and leaders realize this, the sooner we start training troops and the population for this – the more chances we will have for survival, which means victory.”
In Vladimirov’s 2013 book, the retired major general argues that there has been a transition from the traditional theory of war – in which there was a distinction between peace and war – to a permanent state of war characterized by constant fear and uncertainty.
During his interview, 78-year-old Vladimirov said that the training of troops is essential so that they have “the ability to wage war under the conditions of using weapons of mass destruction.”
His book contains important lessons for the Russians, he said.
“If you want peace, fight until you win,” he said. “If you want a long and strong peace, bury the hatchet with him in the territory of the enemy.
“So we have to be prepared. Prepare the army, the state, the economy and the people of the country.”

He was speaking as Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu claimed that Russia inflicted a huge toll on Ukraine during the war, despite Western aid to Kiev.
“In the past month alone, 34 Ukrainian army command posts have been destroyed,” he said.
“From the beginning of the so-called counteroffensive, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 66,000 men and 7,600 ammunition units…
“In the past month, Russia shot down 159 (Ukrainian) HIMARS missiles, 13 cruise missiles and more than 1,000 drones.”
