A police officer on duty has been charged after allegedly having sex with a teenager.

The 28-year-old man was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday at a house in Sydney after a report was made to police on Friday, September 30.

The police officer was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old and misconduct while holding public office.

It is clear that the man is a probationary officer attached to a South West Metropolitan Region Command.

NSW Police said the police officer had resigned while his employment status was being reviewed.

He was denied bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, October 2.
