NSW Police: Cops Taser a man in a wheelchair after he allegedly punched an officer and spat on another’s face

A man in a wheelchair has been tasered by police after allegedly punching an officer in the face during a violent altercation on a busy western Sydney street.

Police were called to Main St in Blacktown at around 9am on Sunday after four vehicles parked on Kildare St and Gribble Pl were reportedly vandalized hours earlier.

As part of their investigation, police stopped to speak to a 43-year-old man in a wheelchair, who reportedly became aggressive and spat in an officer’s face.

Paramedics attempted to restrain the man for treatment when he reportedly punched a police officer in the face before picking up a sharp piece of plastic.

Police allege the man tried to swing the object at officers before a Taser was fired.

The man was sedated and taken to hospital for treatment.

No charges have been laid in relation to the incident and police continue to investigate the damaged vehicles on Blacktown’s busy main road.

The license plates of three of the vehicles were bent or broken and the windshield of another vehicle was defaced.

A fifth vehicle was reported during the alleged altercation.
