A young father is hospitalized during his honeymoon by a one-time attack by a stranger.

Newlywed couple Andreas and Kanisha Lehr were on holiday in Perth when they decided to visit country singer Luke Combs at the RAC Arena on August 26.

The couple, who live in New South Wales, got caught up in the crowds after the show when Andreas turned to shake hands with a stranger.

“Andreas reached out to shake this guy’s hand and asked him if everything was okay. He turned and the king hit him where Andrew had fallen to the ground,’ Mrs. Lehr said.

The 36-year-old suffered cerebral hemorrhages and severe head trauma as a result of the one-punch attack.

“We are super grateful to the people who were around to help him when he needed it most, and of course to all the staff here who are doing their best – everyone helping us get home to our kids,” added Mrs. Lehr. .

There is hope that Mr. Lehr will soon be able to return home to Coffs Harbor and their two children, Callie, 3, and Mason, 5, who did not join the couple on holiday.

“Our two kids, three and five, Mason and Kelly, are at home wondering, Where are Mom and Dad?” said Ms. Lehr.

“There are a few sentences and words he can string together that really make sense.”

“Coming home to my kids is at the top of the list (for Mr. Lehr), I hear it all the time,” she added.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the young family fund a medically assisted flight to NSW, which is expected to cost more than $25,000.

“Andreas will need to be medically returned to NSW to receive the care and medical treatment he needs while remaining close to his immediate family,” the fundraiser said.
