NSW star Dylan Edwards had an Origin night to remember – and not just because he made a hugely impressive debut performance at the MCG on Wednesday night.

As Channel Nine cameras took viewers to the sheds after the match, the fullback was seen sitting next to Isaah Yeo as the pair reflected on the Blues’ thumping 38-18 victory in game two to keep the series alive.

Edwards enjoyed a sip of beer and came up with a funny way to avoid spilling a drop.

In hilarious scenes, the 28-year-old briefly balanced his drink on his daughter’s head as commentators James Bracey and Brad Fittler were confused about what was unfolding.

On the court, Edwards was electric as he defeated his opponent Reece Walsh.

Edwards scored one try, set up another and saved a third in a sparkling performance.

He also finished with a game-high 176 meters and eight tackle breaks as Edwards seized his opportunity in the Origin arena.

“It was great,” Edwards said after the game. ‘We set the stage early and had a very good first half.

“Our defense was solid… we had some special players, it was fun to be a part of it.

“Playing for NSW is a dream come true, I had to pinch myself.”

Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans admitted his side had no answers for the ruthless Blues, especially in the first half when NSW headed into the shed with a 34-0 lead.

“Best described as momentum swings. They were on top of us and we couldn’t stop them, so there’s still a bit to work on,” said the veteran halfback.

‘We will learn from this.’

Following the MCG footy carnage, Michael Maguire’s Blues head to Suncorp Stadium in three weeks’ time looking to repeat their heroics of 1994, 2005 and 2019, when they recovered from 1-0 down to win the series.
