NRL power couple Tommy Talau and Jess Sergis take the next step in their relationship and buy their first home together

Manly NRL champion Tommy Talau and his NRLW Roosters sweetheart Jess Sergis have teamed up to buy their first pillow together in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The couple, who went public with their relationship in January, spent $1.29 million on a retro 1960s two-bedroom apartment in Maroubra on the beach.

This cozy one bathroom apartment is located on the top floor of a block of 12 and offers beautiful ocean views.

Located in a classic three-storey red brick tower just blocks from Maroubra Beach, 10km from Sydney’s central business district, the apartment last changed hands in 2001 for just $325,000.

According to The Daily TelegraphThe fixer-upper has long served as an investment property and was rented in 2023 for $775 per week.

Features include a thoughtful open plan layout, private balcony and newly renovated kitchen.

The bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and offer spectacular views of the surrounding neighborhood.

A highlight is the modern bathroom with bath and separate shower.

According to Proptrack, the average price for a two-bedroom apartment in the area is $1,050,000.

Male star Tommy, 24, and Jessica, 27, made headlines in January when they hit the ground running on their romance.

The footy champions appeared together in a tell-all Instagram post recreating the infamous Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore “pottery” scene in the 1990 romance film Ghost.

As Jessica made ceramics on a pottery wheel, Tommy hugged her from behind.

She planted a kiss on Tommy in the image, which was called a “soft launch” in comments from Sergis’ former Roosters teammate, Leianne Tufuga.

Jillaroos’ Test center Sergis is a star in his own right but is currently missing the Roosters’ run to the NRLW finals with a serious knee injury.

Tommy also shared a photo of Jessica in a bikini by the pool, with his tattooed arm visible in the frame.

Last year, Jessica said she may have to admit to having her toe chopped off due to a persistent and troublesome injury.

“We have to go in and clean it or cut the top off,” she told The Daily Telegraph.

‘My toes are ugly anyway. A toe is a toe,” she added.

Jessica underwent repeated surgeries last year to repair her broken toe, but said if the latest surgery doesn’t fix the problem, the toe will have to go.

‘I still have problems with it. I still can’t fit into shoes. I have to take a size bigger. It’s really annoying,” she said.

Jessica went on to say that she spent five days in the hospital with the injury because it was so stuffed up that the doctor suspected an infection.

‘It’s my left pinky toe. Honestly, it looks like my big toe. It is thick and swollen. When I step on it, it definitely hurts,” she explained.
