NRL star Victor Radley under investigation after ‘brawl with Irish player at World Cup’ – as England footballers accused of VERY childish revenge against Samoa after upset in semi-final

  • Radley allegedly fought with Ireland and Leeds player James Bentley in the hotel
  • Bentley was reportedly the instigator of the alleged Manchester incident
  • Samoa filed a complaint about an incident at their hotel at 1:30am

The organizers of the Rugby League World Cup are investigating an alleged fight between Sydney Roosters and England lock Victor Radley.

The 24-year-old, whose side was eliminated by a defeat against Samoa on Sunday, was reportedly involved in an altercation with Ireland international James Bentley.

Radley was part of a group of England players who returned to their hotel in Manchester after their 27-26 semi-final defeat in London.

The Irish team, in which Bentley played from the Leeds Super League, was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage. Bentley is believed to have been invited back to the hotel by a member of the England team.

“The RFL has been made aware of the allegations and is currently investigating the matter,” the Rugby Football League said in a statement.

Radley was not the instigator, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Heraldalthough the striker has run into trouble over a number of off-field incidents in recent years.

The publication was also told that England footballers knocked on Samoan players’ hotel doors in the middle of the night before running away.

The Samoan team filed a complaint about the incident, which occurred at 1:30 am.

Two other well-known England players are said to have been involved in a brawl at their team hotel.

Bentley (pictured running the ball in Ireland’s World Cup victory over Jamaica) is believed to have initiated the clash after being invited back to the England team’s hotel in Manchester.

Earlier this season, Radley was summoned to speak to NRL chief Andrew Abdo after he made a lewd gesture on television.

He was also under investigation by the NRL’s integrity unit after being thrown off a flight from Sydney to Gold Coast last year and following an altercation in Byron Bay over Christmas 2020.
