NRL star Sam Burgess has welcomed his first child with fiancée Lucy Graham.
The 34-year-old announced the exciting news on Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Friday, revealing the couple welcomed a baby girl named Robbie on Wednesday.
“(It happened) during the grand final week we were cheering. IMy sleep is very limited and I’m used to it again, but it’s great!‘ said the proud father.
The athlete also said that both Lucy and their newborn daughter are “doing really well.”
“She’s amazing and beautiful, just like her mother,” Sam added.

Sam also shares two children: daughter Poppy, six, and son Billy, four, with his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess.
They were married for four years before splitting in 2019.
Sam and Lucy revealed they were expecting their first child together in March.
“We are so excited and happy to start this new chapter together… Happy Days,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

The former Rabbitohs player proposed to Lucy in June, just nine months after they made their relationship public.
He previously revealed he was extremely nervous when he proposed to the hairdresser from Leeds.
When Sam appeared on Channel 7’s Sunrise shortly after arriving in Australia, he was asked how he proposed to Lucy.
Keeping the details private, he said: “I was actually very nervous, I dropped the ball, it was a great day, a great time away, we’re both very happy.”
Lucy recently made the decision to move Down Under from Britain permanently and it is thought her pregnancy was the reason.
It was recently revealed that Lucy was a member of British girl group The Ultra Girls, who were featured heavily on The X Factor UK in 2009.

Friends say they are “extremely excited.” Sam begins a new chapter with Lucy by his side.
‘He’s mad at Lucy. It’s been a whirlwind, but she’s an amazing woman. They get along so well. All his friends are so happy to see how happy he makes her,” said a close friend.
‘The Burgesses are very family oriented and I think there was always a plan to start a family. From what I hear, she’s really good for him. When they’re together they apparently laugh all the time – she’s killing him.’
Born in West Yorkshire, England, Sam has known Lucy for about twenty years.
Her identity was revealed in October last year after he took her as a date to the premiere of Russell Crowe’s film Poker Face in Rome.
