The mother of NRL star Payne Haas has been transferred to another prison after allegedly clashing with inmates at her former prison.
Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua is on remand for a fatal car accident that killed three people in Bonogin, on the Gold Coast, in December.
She has since been transferred from Southern Queensland Correctional Center to Brisbane Women’s prison, the Courier Mail reported.
“Detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit are investigating an attack on a Spring Creek correctional center on May 31,” a police spokeswoman said.

“Initial investigations indicate that two women were assaulted and treated at the scene for minor injuries. Investigations are still ongoing.’
Taufau was allegedly involved in an argument after his return to Brisbane Women’s Prison.
She reportedly argued with another female prisoner while they were queuing for the phone.
After the alleged altercation, Taufua was placed in a detention cell, according to prison guards.
“In the DU they have non-powered cells with no TV or radio,” an officer said.
“There are some cells that allow access to a TV if the prisoner is allowed to have access to TV.”
A Queensland Corrective Services spokesman said it was a matter for Queensland Police.
Taufua is facing three counts of manslaughter after her black Mercedes car collided head-on with a silver Mercedes and a utility pole in Bonogin on the Gold Coast hinterland on December 30.
The three people in the silver Mercedes – Chris Fawcett, 79, his partner Susan Zimmer, 70, and her 35-year-old daughter Stephanie – died in the crash.
Police allege Taufua was seen ‘irregularly’ shortly before the accident and drove off after a patrol car activated lights and sirens in an attempt to pull her over.
A minute after she drove off, police claimed that around 5pm Taufua drove onto the wrong side of Bonogin Road where she hit the Mercedes

She has also been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, evading police, driving without a license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Haas, who plays for the Brisbane Broncos, told Nine Newspapers in February that he had struggled to come to terms with his mother’s charges and incarceration.
“I won’t lie and say it’s been easy. It’s been really tough,” he said.
I am lucky to have a good support network around me, I have my partner (Leilani) and daughter (Lalita).
“I’m (also) close with mommy – I’m a mommy’s boy.”
