NRL: Melbourne Storm fans fume after terrible display against Canterbury Bulldogs

Storm FUME fans in ’embarrassing’ display against Canterbury after Josh Addo-Carr and Viliame Kikau riot in Melbourne: ‘It’s going to be a VERY long year’

Melbourne fans fear a ‘very long year’ after seeing their team utterly dominated by Canterbury in a torrid display at AAMI Park.

The Storm headed into the halftime interval 16 points down after former star Josh Addo-Carr returned to haunt his former side with a boil that was brewing on Saturday night.

A spirited performance in the second half was not enough to secure the result, as they fell 12-26.

Melbourne, who have long dominated at the top of the NRL, looked like a shadow of their former self, left exposed by injuries to the likes of Cameron Munster and Christian Welch.

And fans took to Twitter at halftime to criticize Craig Bellamy’s team’s ’embarrassing’ first-half display against last year’s flops.

“It’s going to be a very long year,” said one fan. “Unfortunately, Wishart is not first grade material.”

“This is the end,” said another fan. ‘It’s been fun for storm fans.’

“Prayers for the players at half time,” posted a third. “Belly is going to be on the warpath.”

Other fans lamented the bad luck of their team’s injuries and asked the club to improve the medical team.

‘I need a better strength and conditioning coach,’ said one fan. ’10 first graders injured in the second round is a joke.’

“Unfortunately too many injuries say,” posted another. There is not enough experience to guide the young.
