Footy show descends into chaos… with a firefighter interrupting Brad Fittler’s passing segment as a fire alarm sounds in the background as NRL stars laugh about it

Nine’s Sunday Footy Show got a little chaotic this week when, during a regular segment, a fire alarm went off and the fire department arrived and incredibly joined in the action.

It was during Brad Fittler’s famous Freddy’s Pass Off segment, where guests are awarded points for how accurately they can pass the football to a goal, that the moments of mayhem ensued.

The game started with a smoky studio and the hosts did their best to ignore the fire alarms going off in the background.

New Sharks star Emma Tonegato attempted the pass-off challenge and the Dally M Medal winner did not disappoint with a respectable 127 points.

Tigers captain Apisai Koroisau was next and also managed to focus on the task with an alarm blaring in the background and scored 132 points.

Oddly enough, the firefighter decided to join in and started passing balls to the goal

Seconds after Koroisau finished, a member of the fire department arrived at the studio in full personal protective clothing and breathing apparatus.

“We even have some visitors in the studio,” host Danika Mason announced

“Just in time for the pass – wanna try?”

Oddly enough, the firefighter decided to join in and started passing balls to the goal.

After several well-placed attempts, the firefighter finally picked up the helmet again and carried on with what is one of the most important jobs in the country

“Well done,” Fittler said of the firefighter’s obvious skills.

“We’re going to fix these sirens and then we’ll be right back,” Mason said when the segment finished and came to a break.
