Now ‘trans activists’ who dissed Aretha Franklin’s song deeming it ‘offensive’ say it WAS ‘satire’

A Twitter account claiming to be run by trans activists claims that her tweet criticizing Aretha Franklin’s song ‘Natural Woman’ for being ‘offensive to trans women’ was nothing more than ‘satire’.

The account, which calls itself ‘The Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance’, criticized the 1967 song as offensive and demanded that it be removed from both Apple and Spotify, despite the fact that it preaches positive messages about women.

But the account, which claimed to have been founded “exclusively by trans people”, retracted those tweets, claiming it was a parody account in one tweet and changing their bio, despite defiantly insisting they were a genuine group.

“It’s a satire, there’s no real TCMA that I’m parodying. It’s a comment on the state of the ‘awake’ movement in general,’ a person who manages the account told DailyMail.com.

A Twitter account calling itself ‘The Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance’ slammed the song recorded by Aretha Franklin (pictured) in 1967 as offensive and demanded it be removed from both Apple and Spotify, despite preaching messages positive about women.

BEFORE: The Twitter account calling itself ‘The Trans Cultural Mindfulness Alliance’ had said in its bio that the group was founded by trans people. They had insisted in since-deleted tweets that they were a genuine group.

AFTER: The account has since changed its bio information to include ‘PARODY/SATIRE’

“This is a parody account,” said the user, who declined to give his real name. iHeartRadio “I never imagined anyone would take it seriously hahaha,” they said, adding that it was meant as a comment on “woke” culture and “media stupidity.”

But this is in direct contradiction to a since-deleted tweet in which the account claimed it was not a parody account. They had written, “To clarify, the TCMA is not a parody organization,” adding that the organizers “are a group of trans people looking to make the culture more fair for transgender people.”

The account has since also changed their biographical information to include ‘PARODY/SATIRE’.

The bio now reads: “PARODY/SATIRE: Founded in January 2023 exclusively by trans people, promoting cultural changes to ensure inclusion of trans people.”

DailyMail.com has contacted the Twitter account for comment.

Statements made by the account, which had defiantly claimed it was genuine and not a parody account, sparked outrage, including its January 20 request to remove Franklin’s song from streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

The post, perceived by many as satire before the account claimed it was a parody, began by stating that the song is offensive to transgender people and that “there is no such thing as a ‘natural’ woman.”

“Aretha Franklin’s 1968 song ‘Natural Woman’ perpetuates multiple harmful anti-trans stereotypes,” reads the post, which erroneously lists the song’s September 1967 release as being from 1968.

“There is no such thing as a ‘natural’ woman,” the organization stated, before stating that the song has already “helped inspire acts of harm against transgender women.”

Social media users were quick to question whether the account, started just days ago, was a hoax designed to fan the flames fueling the ongoing war between progressives and the political right.

Other posts that would follow contained statements considered by many to be just as controversial, and some even more so.

“There have been no meaningful studies on the gender identities of pets,” read a post later that day, in which organizers told parents that children should be able to decide on the gender of their pets.

“It seems pointless, but many children learn the gender of their pets,” the organizers wrote. “Just because you bring home a ‘gendered’ pet, allow your child to choose the pet’s gender, not assign one ‘at will.'”

In another on feminine hygiene, organizers wrote: ‘You don’t need to bleed to get a period. You do not have to ovulate to get your period.

“A period is a state of mind rather than an actual state of being,” the post continued, before stating that biological men who have transitioned ‘You can absolutely have periods and you need free hygiene products.’

Other requests put forward by the organization included a ban on including gender on birth certificates in his native Norway and “an international police force to prosecute bigotry.”

Despite claims by many that the group is legitimate, including from TCMA itself, many users remain skeptical, believing the blatant requests are a joke.

The group, however, attested to its legitimacy in a post published Monday morning.

“To clarify, TCMA is not a parody organization,” it said, adding that the organizers “are a group of trans people looking to make the culture more fair for transgender people.”

“We are headquartered in Norway, but we are looking to open a chapter in every European country and also in North America,” the group revealed.
