Korean pop stars STAYC were invited for a tour of Rangers’ stadium after the group accidentally wore a retro club kit during a performance in Dallas last month.

The six-member girl group had tried to win over the audience during the American leg of their world tour.

STAYC, pronounced Stacey, planned to wear the uniform of the local baseball team Texas Rangers, which played in Major League Baseball’s World Series.

A mix-up saw the group instead appear on stage wearing a shirt from the 1996/97 Glasgow Rangers season, worn by legends such as Paul Gascoigne and Brian Laudrup as the club won their ninth league title in a row.

STAYC has shortened the McEwan’s Lager sponsored shirt into the style of a crop top.

The confusion went viral on social media, with one fan claiming that “Rangers are the kings of K-Pop.”

Rangers invited the group to Ibrox following the mix-up, before the group were due to perform in London on Wednesday.

Group members Isa, Seeum, Yoon, J, Sumin and Sieun had a dance in the stadium uploaded to TikTok, accompanied by Rangers mascot Broxi Bear.

STAYC also greeted fans at a meet and greet hosted by the club at Edmiston House.

The K-Pop stars were pictured in Rangers shirts with the number 23 and STAYC printed on the back.

STAYC had joined the group Saint Phnx, formed by brothers Alan and Stevie Jukes, during the Ibrox tour.

Saint Phnx are Rangers supporters and released the song ‘Make Us Dream’ ahead of the 2022 Europa League final.

STAYC thanked Rangers for the invite on X, formerly Twitter, with the group uploading photos from the first-team dressing room showing current and retro kits.
