Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘siu’ celebration is loved by football fans around the world, including Novak Djokovic, who emulated the Portuguese star during a kickaround at Indian Wells.

The Serbian is in California to participate in the BNP Paribas Open, which he last won in 2016.

But he got an informal game of football on Friday before starting his tournament, with a video posted on X on Friday, showing him scoring past fellow tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Djokovic slid the ball into the net around Tsitsipas’ leg before driving away in celebration, channeling his inner Ronaldo.

In fact, the world number 1 also appeared to imitate Chelsea great Didier Drogba as he crossed his arms to his sides before doing the ‘siu’.

Djokovic was also playing football on Wednesday – and joined Ronaldo’s celebration again after scoring.

β€œIt was a lot of fun,” Tsitsipas told Tennis Channel on Friday about the small match. “I kind of lost myself in the game.”

It’s not the first time a major athlete has emulated Ronaldo, as Giannis Antetokounmpo, a Bucks star and Nashville SC minority owner, did the ‘siu’ before the MLS club faced Inter Miami in the final of the Leagues Cup.

Ronaldo has been celebrating the holiday since 2013, when he played for Real Madrid.

He has since taken him to Juventus, Manchester United and Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, where he currently plays.

He has plenty to celebrate this season, as he scored 22 league goals.

Djokovic starts his tournament on Saturday against unseeded Australian Aleksandar Vukic.

Tsitsipas, meanwhile, won his first match against Frenchman Lucas Pouille on Friday, claiming a 6-3, 6-2 win.
