Nova star Tim Blackwell splits from wife Monique as couple confirms breakdown of their marriage on social media: 'Not all good things come to an end, but this one does'

Radio star Tim Blackwell has divorced his wife after fourteen years of marriage.

Monique Blackwell took to Instagram on Sunday to break the sad news to friends and fans of the couple.

“Not all good things come to an end, but this one does,” began her caption on a pair of photos of herself and Tim, 42, in happier times.

“Thank you in advance for your messages of love, support and sadness at the news that Tim and I are no longer together,” she added.

“Our babes are forever supported by Tim's and my love for them.”

The entrepreneur and yoga instructor concluded, “And our friendship together is always a source of strength for our family, as we raise our children as best friends.”

The couple have three children: Bo, ten, and Alfie, seven, and Artie, four.

They met on the biggest day of Tim's career.

In conversation with The Daily Telegraph Stellar magazine in 2018, the radio personality revealed that the pair met in 2002 after he moved to town to launch Nova 93.7's local drive show.

“It's the cheesiest radio geek story ever – one of the biggest days for my career and certainly the biggest day of my love life,” he said.

“I had all the big bosses in town, all the news media there. I was shaking and shocked, but excited at the same time.”

“Once that was all over, we went downstairs and had a big launch party. Monique was part of the promotional team at the time. She came over and I had the courage to say, 'I'm new to Perth and I'd love to take you for a coffee or something.'

The news comes after Blackwell appears to have confirmed rumors of a feud between him and Kate Ritchie.

The radio host appeared to hint at a clash with his former Nova FM co-host by making a snarky comment when asked about her departure from the drive-time show on the Shock Jocks podcast.

When asked what prompted Kate's departure, Tim replied: “That's a question for her, I don't know anything.”

He then added, “I think it ran its course and I think she wanted another chance… and (new host) Ricki-Lee Coulter was there too.”

Tim then spoke fondly of his new co-host, saying, “She's powerful, vocal and the female version of him.”

He continued: “She's a bit of a control freak, she knows what she wants, she's very vocal, very powerful, she has her own ideas, that's why we love her so much.”

Ricki-Lee replaced Kate on the show earlier this year, with the program being renamed the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel Show.

Kate had quit the show after a long absence and a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction.

Ricki-Lee said she was “so happy” to take over the segment alongside co-hosts Tim and Joel Creasey.

“I love Tim and Joel like the brothers I never had but always wanted, and I had so much fun with them in the studio – they're the best in the business!” she said in a statement to Ny Breaking Australia.

“I have so much love for Kate and I'm so happy I was able to help with the Drive show this past year. I'm thrilled to officially join the Nova family!'

Kate is now starring in Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, also in Nova.

Meanwhile, Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli's co-host Sarah McGilvray faced a 'brutal' exit from the show, making way for Kate's big debut.

Nova FM staff spoke of their 'shock' and 'confusion' over the sudden departure of Fitzy and Wippa's long-serving co-anchor.

Sarah worked on Fitzy and Wippa for twelve years, including eight years as co-host alongside Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli. Previously she was senior producer for the Sydney breakfast programme.
