My 63-year-old high flying sugar daddy used to pay my bills and fund my luxe holidays. Now he’s my assistant – and I’m in his will

When Nova Hawthorne and her sugar daddy James first met, he paid the bills, threw extravagant dinners and lavish weekend getaways.

But the duo changed course: the 63-year-old quit his successful job as a business development consultant and is now Nova’s assistant.

The Australian couple, who have a 33-year age gap, met on a sugar daddy website in 2019 and had a “typical sugar relationship” with James paying all the expenses.

Their bond quickly grew stronger after the two moved in together, while Nova was having problems with her landlord.

Five years later, the Melbourne couple are in love and keep their relationship private.

“When I first met James, I was making my money mainly from strip club dancing, escorting and sugaring,” said Nova, who is an online sex worker.

‘Our dates were carefully planned by James and often included extended experiences, such as dining at restaurants that offered full vegan tasting menus with wine pairings.

“James kindly said I could stay until I got my degree. It quickly started to feel like two people who liked each other living together,” she said.

“When our relationship transitioned from a sugar relationship to a traditional dating dynamic in 2019, our financial dynamic naturally had to change,” she added.

While the ‘allowance’ scheme was stopped, James continued to pay for all of Nova’s expenses – including her phone bill, beauty treatments, hair appointments, nails, eating out, entertainment and shopping.

“During that time, I continued to work as a club dancer, earning my own money, while James made sure all my bills were paid. This new financial dynamic allowed us to support each other in different ways,” she continued.

James financially supported Nova’s business ventures by investing a staggering $400,000 in the purchase of an investment property where adult streamers and content creators could film.

Within a few years, Nova was making over $300,000, meaning James could give up his career to join her company.

Now he is her ‘right hand man’ and acts as content editor, business contact, planning assistant, photographer and videographer.

“This change means that not only am I the one who earns the most, but I am also responsible for paying his wages,” Nova said.

“This shift has brought a new dynamic to our relationship. Because the roles have been reversed, we have had to navigate and redefine our relationship boundaries and expectations.

“The most significant change is in our communication and partnership. We’ve had open and honest discussions about our financial roles and how they impact our personal and professional lives.”
