Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Ibrahim Sangare from PSV for £30 million.

The deal went through after the 11pm deadline as Forest had sent their deal sheet to the Premier League before the cut-off time, with the player and both clubs signing the transfer.

The Ivory Coast international has been pursued by a host of European clubs this summer but has opted to sign a five-year contract at the City Ground.

Sangare joined PSV from Toulouse in 2020 and went on to make 140 appearances for the Dutch club, scoring 15 goals and 10 assists.

He helped PSV finish second in the Eredivisie last season and scored against Rangers last week to secure the Dutch place in the Champions League.

The 25-year-old began his career with Ligue 1 club Toulouse, making 86 appearances for them before moving to the Netherlands in 2020.

Sangare also made 31 appearances against the Ivory Coast, scoring nine goals since his debut as a 17-year-old.

Forest boss Steve Cooper is a huge admirer of Sangare, who has been on the club’s radar for the better part of 12 months.

In addition to Sangare, Forest also signed Callum Hudson-Odoi, Nuno Tavares Divock Origi, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Nicolas Dominguez on deadline day.
