- He is known for scaling buildings to raise money for women considering abortion
A notorious pro-life activist was spotted atop the Las Vegas sphere on Wednesday.
Maison Des Champs, who calls itself the ‘pro-life Spiderman’, is known for climbing skyscrapers.
The climber was arrested after descending from the sphere, which is 110 meters high and opened last September.
Pro-life charity Let Them Live said in a statement that Des Champs selected the venue in honor of the Super Bowl, which takes place in Las Vegas on Sunday.
“As half a million football fans arrive in Las Vegas for Superbowl LVIII, Des Champs wants to wake up the public to worry about the fate of unborn children in our country,” the statement said.

Pro-life charity Let Them Live said in a statement that Des Champs chose the venue in honor of the Super Bowl, which takes place in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The charity added that Des Champs was raising money for a homeless 37-year-old woman who has an upcoming abortion appointment and contacted the charity for financial assistance.
Des Champs said in a statement: “More than 2,000 children die from abortion every day in America, but we have become apathetic about it.
“We think it’s more important to see Taylor Swift on the kiss cam than a third of our generation wiped out by abortion.”
Las Vegas police received a call about the orb sighting around 10 a.m. local time.
They shared a donation link with a goal of $25,000. The page had raised about $270 after his arrest.
“In the spotlight of my climb today is Isabel, a courageous soul currently navigating life’s toughest storms, pregnant and facing uncertainty at every step,” Des Champs wrote on the donation page.
‘Having made the heartbreaking decision to adopt three of her children, and with twins living with her ex-husband, she is now faced with the prospect of bringing a new life into this world among the most challenging circumstances you can imagine. ‘
The sphere is the largest spherical structure in the world, with an exterior area of 580,000 square meters.
DailyMail.com has contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for comment on this story.
In October, Des Champs was arrested after climbing the 178-meter Accenture Tower in Chicago without a rope.
He previously climbed The New York Times building in Manhattan and the Chase Tower in Phoenix.
