Notion introduces a new website publishing tool

Notion, the workplace collaboration and productivity app, just added a new website builder to its platform.

The new tool, called Notion Sites, was introduced last Tuesday. It allows users to build a page, either from scratch or using one of the many newly launched templates. Publishing the page online takes just one click, and users can customize it as they see fit or connect it to a custom domain.

Additionally, custom SEO settings and Google Analytics integration allow Notion users to track their site usage directly from the platform.

“This new offering is now fully integrated into the Notion platform and brings web publishing to users – including prosumers, solopreneurs, startups, and small businesses,” Notion said in an email to Ny Breaking.

In other words, websites built with Notion now look like they were built with traditional website builders.

Publish content

“What we’re launching on Tuesday is a set of features that make a Notion page — which was probably 80% to 90% of what we would all consider a website — literally 100% of a website,” said Matt Piccolella, product lead at Notion. Fast company.

Notion Sites allows businesses and regular consumers to publish content online without the need for a full-fledged content management system, freeing up their engineers and webmasters for other tasks. To be fair, Notion doesn’t allow HTML and JavaScript editing, so in some scenarios, a separate platform might still be needed.

Thanks to other Notion features, generative AI, and the ability to integrate PDFs, interactive maps, and other content, creating a complete website experience becomes easier and more seamless.

“A lot of the things that make up a website are exactly the things you can do with Notion’s core editor,” Piccolella told the publication.

Notion Sites are available to users of all Notion plans, but some customization options are only available to users of paid plans.
