Nothing’s new budget smartwatch has a killer design feature you won’t find on an Apple or Galaxy Watch
Nothing is set to introduce a lot of new tech to its budget-friendly CMF line, which includes the CMF Phone 1, CMF Buds Pro 2, and the CMF Watch Pro 2 on July 8. We’re still in the dark when it comes to many details about these products, but it did announce one fairly unique design feature that will be appearing on the Watch Pro 2: interchangeable bezels.
Details haven’t been released just yet, but in an image shared online by Nothing, we can see that the Watch Pro 2’s standard bezel will be able to snap off, presumably replacing it with options of varying thickness or aesthetics to customize the style of your smartwatch beyond just the strap and digital watch face. This is what we saw of the Xiaomi Watch S3’s interchangeable bezels when it debuted a few months ago.
While for many people, price and specs will be the biggest deciding factors, for some, design is a major consideration when buying their accessories – smart or not. And in general, that’s an area where smartwatches have struggled, as their designs tend to have some variation of the same slightly futuristic, metallic look. The CMF Watch Pro 2 could change things for the better in this department.
It also ties into what seems to be the main focus of this upcoming CMF release: lots of personalization options.
Customization is the key
Staying with the watch, Nothing has said that you can “build watch faces that fit your everyday needs” to customize which details and features you want to access quickly. Meanwhile, images of the CMF Phone 1 have shown wildly different versions of the backplate.

Some have a kickstand, some have a carabiner-like clip, and still others reveal what looks like a battery pack. You can presumably switch between these options by unscrewing the screws that Nothing proudly highlights on social media, along with a CMF screwdriver.
The only product in this series that looks fairly standard are the Buds Pro 2, but we’ll have to wait and see what Nothing announces on July 8.
