Nothing Phone 2a renders seem to fully reveal the promising mid-range device

The leaks for the Nothing Phone (2a) are increasing as we get closer to the March 5 launch date. This time, a series of possibly official images have recently surfaced that fully show the final design of the mid-range car.

These views were posted, oddly enough, by user Greg2024 on the Nothing Community forums. The original page has now been removed, but luckily people managed to save its contents. Looking at the leak, the Nothing Phone (2a) looks radically different from the older Phone (2) model. The rear camera lenses are aligned horizontally and placed in the center of the top half of the device. Furthermore, the glyph has completely disappeared. Instead, there are three light strips around the cameras. Below that you will see a pipe-like pattern moving downwards.

At the front you have the it is rumored to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen surrounded by thin edges. The pinhole selfie lens is at the top, plus the images show the power button on the right and the volume control on the left. Finally, the Nothing Phone (2a) will be available in black or white.

Look into the future

That’s all there is in the leak, so now the question is what we can learn from the renders as it seems legit in our opinion. For starters, the back glyph changing to the simplified light sequence is likely a cost-saving measure by developers. The same goes for the wireless charging coil. That has disappeared and has been replaced by the lines that wind downwards.

What makes the leak even more believable are the cameras. Around mid-February, industry insider Abhishek Yadav got his hands on what he claimed was an early version of the smartphone, and y’know, it features horizontally aligned lenses. It’s also worth looking at the tagline for Nothing Phone’s launch event (2a): ‘Fresh. Eyes.” And what looks like a pair of eyes? Two cameras sit next to each other.

Missing information

Device specifications were not part of the leak; however, the company did confirm in a recent YouTube video that the smartphone will run on a custom MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. The rest of the model’s hardware capabilities are officially unknown at this point, although rumors claim it will have at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The price is also a mystery; However, 9To5Google guesses this could be around $380/£300/€349.

As always, you should take this information with a grain of salt. Things can always change in the coming weeks. Maybe the company will stick with the old vertically aligned lens array.

Around the same time as this leak came out, the CMF by Nothing sub-brand announced two new audio products; specifically the Neckband Pro, a pair of earbuds equipped with presumably a battery pack that hangs around your neck. These are equipped with “best in class ANC” or active noise cancellation.
