Music superstar and well-known leftist Cher has threatened to leave the United States if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election.
The 77-year-old pop icon has revealed she will take drastic action if the Republican front-runner secures a second term in the White House.
“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she told the newspaper Guardian. “If he comes in, who knows? This time I will leave (the country).”
The Believe singer’s comment comes as Trump, 77, remains far ahead of his Republican Party primary opponents both in the polls and at the bank – despite facing a barrage of lawsuits.
Cher, who campaigned for Joe Biden’s 2020 election, previously described Trump as “Nixon on steroids” and a threat to democracy.

Trump’s campaign has reported raising $24.5 million in the third quarter of 2023 — more than double the finances of his Republican rivals over the same period, according to Politics.
The former president also recently overtook Joe Biden in a hypothetical DailyMail.com poll, a year before their expected rematch.
The survey shows that Trump has come back from a two-point deficit in June, when the poll was last conducted, to take a one-point lead over the incumbent president.
His rise is being fueled by independent voters switching sides and gains among college graduates, who provide the bulk of support for Biden.
However, the race remains incredibly close – and the poll of 1,000 likely voters, conducted by JL Partners, has a margin of error of 3.1 points.
In her Guardian interview published on Wednesday, Cher also criticized what she described as anti-trans legislation being proposed in the US this year.
“It’s about 500 bills they’re trying to pass,” she said. ‘I was recently with two trans girls – and of course with my own child (Chaz is trans).
“I said, ‘We have to stand together.’ I don’t know what their ultimate plan is for transgender people. I won’t let anything pass by.’
Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, 54, transitioned from female to male in 2009, and the singer has previously opened up about the difficulties that came with it.
She also reflected on the light bulb moment when she realized she hadn’t “lost” her only child — formerly known as Chastity — but that he had simply changed “form.”

She spoke at several rallies and also expressed her support for the Democratic candidate via social media.
During an onstage performance in Las Vegas, Cher wore a Biden-Harris face mask before performing the song Walking In Memphis.
She described Biden as “honest” and “smart,” while criticizing Trump as “ripping the guts out of America” and warning that if he stayed in the White House for four more years, democracy would begin to crumble.
