That’s why we started this open thread: to help you find your next favorite game. Want to play something while you wait in line? We can help. Looking for something to play with a friend who doesn’t have a console? We have ideas. Do you want a fantasy game masterpiece that will last for hundreds of hours? Yes, we have a suggestion there too. So ask away!

From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM EST, I’ll be in the comments section answering your questions and making requests about what you should play. You can and should make your own recommendations, or feel free to just talk about what you’re playing.

What expertise can you expect from me? At heart I am a lover of strategy, building, survival and management games. If you look at my Steam library it is full of titles like Civilization, ARK: Survival evolved, Frostpunk, IXION, Landlords, Satisfactory, SubnauticaAnd Timberborn. On the Switch I mainly play fun games such as Dreamlight Valley, GhostsmanAnd Palia (with some This war of mine And Pokémon unite thrown for variety). I also own a PS5 and an Xbox Series S, but admittedly don’t play them as often (unless we’re talking Horizon zero dawn).

These days I also spend an inordinate amount of time playing board games with friends (at this point my apartment is starting to look more like a board game cafe). I have a lot of recommendations for fun board games, but my favorite video game genres apply here too: KATAN will forever be one of my favorite board games to play.
