Not such a bon voyage: From brutal bye-byes to pleading passengers, videos capture cruise guests who got back to the ship too late…

Do you think you’re having a bad day? It can’t be as bad as these unfortunate passengers who embarrassingly missed their cruise ship departure time.

Clips have been shared over the years of so-called ‘pier runners’ being laughed at by thousands of other passengers as they make the long, arduous journey down the jetty.

From this to being waved off sarcastically by crew members when they left them on dry land, some holidaymakers continued to make fun of themselves for their poor time management.

MailOnline has collected some of the most humiliating moments for late cruise passengers caught on camera.

Thousands watch as an embarrassed couple scream and yell as they miss the ship’s departure

Last week, hilarious footage showed a tourist couple on a wharf screaming and begging for a cruise ship captain to wait for them while fellow passengers looked on.

The two travelers in the port of Bari in southeastern Italy as MSC Splendida departed on August 15 for her nine-day tour of the Mediterranean.

The couple missed the scheduled departure time and upon arrival at quay 11, the gangway of the 1,100-foot ship had already been removed.

The man was heard calling and pleading repeatedly, “Is the captain there, please?” He later added, “Captain, please wait for us. You can do it if you want.’

One of the more than 4,000 passengers on board filmed the scene and could be heard chuckling in the background.

The woman who was filming said to another passenger, ‘What is he saying? What does it mean? Oh, maybe he missed the cruise.’

A British guest on board, who said her family had spent £8,000 for the cruise, berated the ship’s crew for abandoning the couple.

She told MailOnline, “I was on that cruise with my family when it happened. We were having lunch when they made just one announcement for two Italian sounding names and then nothing more.

“The cruise departed less than a minute later. We felt it took little to no effort to find those people, whether they were there or not.’

Happy honeymoon! A couple runs alongside the ship that leaves them behind… with all their belongings on board

In 2019, an unhappy couple was caught on camera desperately chasing a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as it sailed without them while on their honeymoon.

Maria Gonzalez Roesch and Alessandro Di Palma were stranded when they arrived just minutes after their ship Symphony of the Seas left Nassau, Bahamas on Feb. 15.

Ms. Gonzalez Roesch, a famous TV actress in their home country of Costa Rica, spoke of the “nightmare” moment when they realized the ship was leaving without them – with their money and passports on board.

They even claimed that the ship’s crew was spotting as they ran past the huge ship.

“There was a platform with two crew members and they were angry with us. We started yelling at them “Please let us be on the cruise, we’re still here”.

“But the guys said, ‘You’re not going to be so lucky and we’ll close the doors and leave,'” the 26-year-old said. The sun.

She told the news website that they panicked when they realized their passports, visas and credit cards were still on board the ship.

However, these were picked up by a smaller boat that had led the large ship out of the harbour.

The couple enjoyed their honeymoon after getting married in late January.

According to someone who took the video from the deck of the nearby Norwegian Bliss, the call came in for everyone on board at 3:30 p.m.

At 4:15 p.m., workers began removing the aisle and closing the hatch.

About five minutes later, the unwitting couple showed up, arms laden with shopping bags from their shore excursion.

Initially delirious and swaying, the couple quickly sinks into dejection as the ship’s propellers begin to stir the water.

Other passengers on the Symphony of the Seas can watch smugly from their balconies as the ship pulls away from the stranded couple.

Mrs. Gonzalez Roesch and her husband talk to several longshoremen as the ship pulls away.

Exited, the couple walks down the pier as the ship pulls away, looking across the water beyond.

A one-way ticket from Nassau to Miami costs about $180 each.

Passengers on board cheer as three latecomers take a humiliating walk to the ship

In the same year, three passengers who stopped an entire cruise ship were sarcastically cheered back on board after taking an embarrassing ride over a jetty.

As it prepared to depart from the port of Bermuda earlier this month, a Norwegian cruise ship was held up by straggling tourists, who failed to board before its original 2:30 p.m. departure time.

Unwilling to wait, the crew announced the names of the missing passengers on the ship’s intercom before pulling up the side deck as they prepared to depart, a witness on board said.

However, footage shows crew members reconsidering their decision, remaining at the jetty in the hope that they would show up.

About 20 minutes after the original departure time, the trio did indeed appear in the distance, one in front with bags and two more behind.

Realizing that the hundreds of passengers already on board may be furious with them, the remaining couple begin to jog down the jetty.

Two passengers were seen jogging and a third sauntering towards the cruise ship full of passengers who had waited 30 minutes after the original departure time before arriving

Suddenly, passengers begin to cheer them on as they approach, while a woman in the front walks casually.

After what feels like a few agonizing minutes, the trio meet with security for the ship.

The jogging couple can be seen panting as they appear to apologize to the staff at the gate before boarding.

Despite the warm cheers as they rushed to board, a passenger can be heard shouting “hurry up” as they make their way up the gangway and board the ship.

Crew Members Hilariously Escort Families Running To Catch The Boat On The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) Soundtrack

An embarrassing video shows families racing to catch their cruise ship before it leaves the port of Cozumel.

The Carnival Cruise passengers are sarcastically ushered onto the jetty by crew members as The Proclaimers lyric “I’d walk 500 miles.”

A young girl holds her swim noodle and towel as her amused father runs after her and records the humiliating moment on his phone.

Two crew members then piggyback tired passengers off the jetty and are booed by onlookers.

“Leave Mom!”: Dad and kids run to the cruise ship while mom struggles to keep up

These pier runners left hundreds of other passengers hysterical as they raced down the jetty to get on the cruise ship.

A man can be seen running down the pier, holding two beach towels.

As if things weren’t stressful enough, he then drops one of the towels and tries to retrieve it, much to the delight of the onlookers from the boat cheering them on.

He then triumphantly runs to the ship holding the towels as if celebrating the end of a marathon.

Behind him are his wife and two children, sprinting away from her, as an amused passenger calls out to them, “Leave Mom!”

This is followed by other latecomers who seem exhausted from the long sprint.

Tourists run the race of their lives to get on a cruise ship before it’s too late

In another video, tourists on a carnival cruise also sprint as if they were on a running track.

You can see dozens of vacationers walking towards the two ships as passengers cheer them on.

A crew member standing on the jetty even ushers the passengers inside, while customers whistle and jeer on board.

Two passengers finally board the ship, but there are dozens of others behind them who have yet to make it.
