Louisiana’s Republican governor has called for the cancellation of scholarships for college athletes who do not attend the national anthem before the games. Mulkey, who has won four national titles as a head coach and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020, said afterward that her players were undergoing their regular pregame preparations Monday night when the national anthem was played.
