The most dangerous states to live in by 2024 have been revealed. A Northwest state with stunning scenery takes the top spot after liberals allowed crime to rise.

WalletHub ranked all states for safety, based on a combination of several factors.

The scores took into account violent crimes, property crimes, traffic fatalities and the total number of law enforcement officers per capita.

New Jersey ranked first for safety, followed by Wyoming, New Hampshire, Idaho and New York.

Washington state ranks last, making it the most dangerous place to live in the United States in 2024.

Washington, also known as the ‘Evergreen State’, is known for its many forests, large lakes and beautiful mountains.

Although the state has a lot to offer, such as its natural features and high-tech industry, the state has also been struggling with a lot of crime in recent years.

Washington is one of the most socially liberal states in the country and was among the first states to decriminalize recreational cannabis use, gay marriage, and assisted suicide.

It was also a site of extreme protests and riots following the killing of George Floyd in 2020 and 2021.
