Shocking video footage has emerged showing police repeatedly punching a man during an arrest outside a popular pub in front of dozens of shocked New Year's Eve revelers.
The dramatic incident took place outside the Brass Monkey Hotel in Perth's Northbridge, just minutes after revelers called in 2024.
The footage showed three police officers pinning the reveler to the ground as they tried to subdue the man accused of behaving 'in a disorderly manner'.
The incident escalated when one of the officers punched the man.
Moments later, the officer struck the man several more times when another male officer held the man down by sitting on top of him.
Horrified onlookers were heard shouting at officers to 'slow down' as they tried to restrain the 25-year-old.
“Oi Oi Ease Up Turbo,” a bystander shouted.
A female spectator shouted at police to “let him go.”
The demure reveler did not appear to pose much of a threat during the arrest.
Officers managed to restrain and handcuff the man, who was bound at his knees and ankles, before he was taken away and taken into custody.
Western Australia police allege the man was behaving in a “disorderly manner”.
“Officers approached the man and asked him to move on, but he failed to follow directions and continued to shout and swear around other members of the public,” a police spokesperson told Daly Mail Australia.
“Due to his persistent behavior, officers attempted to arrest the man, but it will be alleged he positioned his arms so he would not be handcuffed and resisted arrest.”

The man from Kenwick, south-east Perth, was charged with disorderly conduct in a public place and obstructing public officials.
He will appear in the Perth Magistrate Court on January 31.
Acting WA Police Commissioner Mark Longman said police would review footage of the alleged incident before deciding whether to take disciplinary action against officers involved in the man's arrest.
'I haven't watched it [footage] but police will review their video and investigate the circumstances leading to his arrest,” he said The Western Australia.
“If action needs to be taken against the officers involved, we will be the first to lead the investigation.”
An additional 440 police officers were deployed across Perth as thousands of partygoers poured into the city on Sunday evening to welcome the New Year.
Police made 126 arrests and filed 290 charges that night.
