North Carolina cyclist kicks GOP activist John Kane’s ‘Trump Won’ sign — before returning after dark to burn it

The bizarre moment a cyclist vented his anger at a pro-Trump political sign in North Carolina has been captured on camera.
John Kane, a Raleigh businessman and local Republican political activist, posted surveillance video of the incident to the social media site X on Friday, with a $1,000 reward for identifying the perpetrator.
The video shows a cyclist, fully kitted out in helmet and spandex, stopping on August 12 and gently kicking the sign outside Kane’s house, to no avail.
Then, in the early hours of August 15, another man who appears to be the same person, wearing the same cycling gear, is seen on camera setting fire to the sign that says “Trump Won.”
Attorney James R. Lawrence III, a partner at Envisiage Law, said he represents Kane, who plans to charge the arsonist once identified.

“Regardless of what the Wake County District Attorney’s office does with this video, there will be accountability,” Lawrence wrote on X.
The lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from DailyMail.com on Saturday afternoon.
Kane is a North Carolina conservative activist and recently ran for president of the state’s GOP party.
He was defeated by incumbent chairman Michael Whatley at the Republican Party convention in June.
However, several delegates who supported Kane filed suit to challenge the results, the Carolina Journal.
The lawsuit argued that a mobile app used in the voting process violated party rules. The current status of the suit was not immediately clear.

He then served as an executive at a North Carolina-based private equity investment firm from 2012 to 2016.
He later served as chairman and CEO of Capstone Event Group, which owns and operates a number of endurance races.
