Bronwyn could not leave her house after a stranger parked their car in front of her driveway… the response from cops and council has outraged her

A woman has been left ‘outraged’ by police and her council after both refused to help her remove a stranger’s car from her driveway.

Bronwyn Courtenay discovered the Subaru blocking access to her home on Gould Street in North Bondi, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, on Friday morning.

Her first thought was to call her local police station, but they quickly referred her to Waverley Council.

Unfortunately, the most the city could do was leave a $320 fine on the vehicle.

“They told me to get a tow truck to move it and pay for it,” Ms Courtenay told the newspaper. Sydney Morning Herald.

“Why can’t the council just tow it to the depot and have the registered driver call the police and stick the bill on his windshield for when he picks it up?”

The car was still parked in her driveway on Saturday afternoon.

‘I had to take the bus to work [instead of driving] and organizing someone to take my daughter to a sporting event,” Ms Courtenay said.

“If there was an emergency in my house, there would be no way an ambulance would be able to enter my property.”

Although Ms Courtenay admitted the street was often too tight for parking, she was disgusted by the council’s apparent inability to help.

Waverley Council said on Saturday it would arrange for the car to be towed away.

“NSW Police have attempted to contact the owner of the car to have it removed, as per standard policy,” a spokesperson said.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Waverley Council for further comment.
