Normani suffers an awkward wardrobe mishap in a racy sheer brown dress at Moschino’s show during Milan Fashion Week

Normani made a daring appearance in a sheer dress at Moschino’s spring/summer 2025 womenswear show during Milan Fashion Week on Thursday.

The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Normani Kordei Hamilton, suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction in the daring dress that featured pearly straps and a plunging neckline.

Normani showed off a glimpse of her underwear and ample cleavage as she added dimension to her figure with a pair of white high heels.

She completed her FROW look with a pair of silver, diamond-encrusted hoop earrings and wore orange sunglasses.

Normani wore her locks in a tight updo and accentuated her natural beauty with a flawless makeup palette.

Moschino’s Adrian Appiolaza presented his second womenswear collection for the fashion house, following a well-received menswear show in June.

This collection was of great significance, as it was Appiolaza’s first all-women show for Moschino.

For AW24, he was only appointed weeks before the show, following the death of former creative director Davide Renne, so he did not have full creative control over the collection.

Normani, who was a member of girl group Fifth Harmony from 2012 to 2018, previously opened up about her latest album and the freedom she now feels as a solo artist, admitting that she felt like “some kind of symbol” while being part of the pop girl group.

Normani said about going solo:: ‘When I came out of the group I didn’t necessarily know who or what Normani sounded like,

‘I needed some time to gain life experience, challenge myself in the studio and not be afraid.’

Normani, who had trained her entire life for a career in the music industry, also admitted that joining a girl group at the age of 16 came with its challenges.

She revealed: ‘I was the only black girl, the only one who looked like me, which was a completely different experience than the other girls – and that’s not to diminish their experience, because I know what we’ve been through collectively,’

“We really did the best we were given under very unrealistic circumstances, but as the only black girl in a very successful mainstream pop girl group, I definitely felt like a token. I don’t know if I could put that into words at the time.”

Of her freedom as a solo artist, Normani added: “There’s a sense of freedom that I’ve been waiting for, a weight that’s lifted off of me: that I can just be Normani, before I’m anything else.”

Elsewhere in her interview with Dazed magazinethe Love Lies hitmaker shared how she dealt with her parents’ cancer diagnosis.

Normani admits that times were tough: ‘When my parents got sick, I didn’t even have the mental capacity to be creative, but I still pushed myself to work.’

“If it wasn’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have done it, but I know it helped them through such a difficult time. They got to see me persevere, persevere, and keep moving forward.”

The star also said she made an “oath” to herself to “do things her way” if the opportunity arose.

She revealed, “I know what it’s like to put out music that I don’t necessarily believe in. It hurts when I feel like I can’t be fully represented or I have to stand behind something that I don’t believe in, and I did that for so long.”

“So I made an oath to myself that if I ever got the chance, I would do things my way and I wouldn’t regret it.”

Normani released her debut studio album Dopamine in June.

It was a huge business move for the star, as since Fifth Harmony disbanded in 2018, Normani had released only a handful of singles, many of which were collaborations with artists like Khalid, Sam Smith, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.

Normani has 12.2 million monthly listeners and her song “Dancing with a Stranger” featuring Sam Smith has been streamed over a billion times.
