Noosa Sound Bridge tragedy as man dies jumping off
A man has died after jumping from a bridge in what police say was a case of misadventure.
Queensland Police received a report at around 1am on Sunday that an adult male had jumped from the Noosa Sound Bridge onto Noosa Pde and failed to resurface.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The Queensland Ambulance Service also attended the scene at around 1.15am but were unable to locate the man.

The tragic death follows several warnings from police not to jump from the bridge.
Despite warnings that jumping from the Sound Bridge could lead to serious injuries, it has remained a popular tourist activity.
Now-retired Senior Sergeant Peter Feldman previously explained what makes the activity so risky.
“They are not only risking their own lives, but also the lives of people in passing boats,” he said Noosa News.
‘It is an offense to jump off certain structures and they are breaking the law.
‘It’s not the height of the bridge that makes it dangerous, but the way they can fall.
‘It only takes a fall of a few meters to seriously injure someone.’
Ambulance crews arrived at the scene around 1:15 a.m., but could no longer find the man. Police divers discovered his body around 6 a.m
