Noel Gallagher reveals the Oasis reunion will include loads of ‘fit f**king birds’ as he details the band’s struggles in the early days: ‘I don’t know how we got by’

Noel Gallagher has revealed what he thinks the highly anticipated Oasis reunion would look like if it ever happened.

The rocker, 56, has been embroiled in a very public feud with his brother Liam, 50, since Oasis split in 2009, although there was talk recently that the feuding siblings could finally unite for a comeback performance.

And once again teasing a reunion in an interview with The sunNoel – who split this year from wife of 12 years Sara MacDonald – brazenly shared his thoughts on what the gig would look like, noting, “Me, Liam and a bunch of fit f**king birds.”

The musician then joked that the band would look very different these days as they’ve gotten older, noting that his hair was “a little bit thicker” in Oasis’ heyday.

It was recently alleged that Liam’s agents Wasserman had put forward an idea to stage four major concerts in 2025 at the 125,000 capacity Knebworth venue in Hertfordshire.

The brothers performed in front of 250,000 people at Knebworth in 1996 on two major gigs, while Liam returned to the venue in 2022 to take the stage in front of 170,000 people.

Speaking of Oasis, Noel said, ‘If you haven’t seen Oasis live to the end, you haven’t really seen a band live. What started on a municipal estate in a small bedroom went around the world. The songs speak for themselves. There is now a new generation that has taken ownership of it. Go on, have fun.’

Despite giving no further hints about the reunion, Noel opened up about the band’s problems in the early days, especially with their lack of proper sound equipment, saying, “I don’t know how we made it.”

Oasis has sold 75 million albums worldwide and has released hit albums including Absolutely Maybe and What’s The Story Morning Glory? Their last studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released in 2008.

And despite the band barely having the money to buy state-of-the-art sound equipment, he notes that this was actually key to their success, as it helped them create a certain sound.

He said, ‘The sound we’re known for comes from the fact that it was the only sound we could get from the equipment we had at the time. Everyone’s going on and on about that damn sound. It was because the equipment we had was bad. We masked it all with volume.’

He added that he wrote Liam’s vocals in a “higher register” to sing “over the racket.”

Looking back at the huge success that followed, Noel recalled how they struggled to maintain their signature sound because their fancy new equipment they could now afford sounded “too good.”

In recent years, the siblings have continued to exchange insults, and reports of a reunion are constantly circulating.

In late November 2020, Liam appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show claiming that there was “nothing left on the table” to resolve his feud with Noel.

The Oasis frontman singer revealed that his brother turned down £100 million to join him on a reunion tour.

Speaking of Noel, who he said wouldn’t get involved with the idea of ending their feud, Liam said, “I think both of us are the problem and the problem is he doesn’t think he’s the problem.” He thinks I’m both problems.

‘While I’m just a problem. I’m half the problem when I can’t let him think I’m the full problem.

“He has to take on part of the problem. Once he does, we’ll move on. He needs to face his problem… No (I haven’t spoken to him). I don’t think it’s going to happen.’

In January 2021, Liam appeared to offer an olive branch and spark hopes of a reconciliation as he tweeted, “HNY Noel love you for a long time, 2021 is our year, come on you know LG x”.

Noel didn’t respond and Liam didn’t tag his brother’s Twitter name in his reconciliation tweet.

It comes after, following initial reports that Knebworth would be a potential venue, it was reported that Oasis could potentially reunite at the Etihad Stadium, the home of Noel and Liam’s favorite club Manchester City, according to reports.

The sun reports that there are rumors of a possible reunion for the band in 2025, with the football field suggested as a venue.

A source told the publication: “Liam loves football, and reuniting the band at his favorite stadium would be a dream come true.

“It’s very early days and the proposed dates are still a long way off, but if all members agree, music history will be made.”
