Noel Fielding’s comedy The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has reportedly been halted mid-production.
The 51-year-old Great British Bake Off star played the leading role of the legendary highwayman in the million-dollar show that debuted on Apple TV last spring.
But when filming for the second series was due to resume after the Christmas holidays, the cast and crew received the devastating news that this would not happen.
A TV insider said this The sun: ‘They were understandably stunned and enraged by the bomb due to millions of pounds, months of planning and hours of work.
“It now effectively means they are all out of work and looking for new jobs, but they still haven’t had a full explanation.”
The source also told the publication that Noel did not return after the holidays. MailOnline has contacted Noel’s representatives for comment.

In the comedy series, Noel plays the infamous highwayman who lived from 1705 to 1739, in a fictional take on his life.
Together with his band of lovable villains, Dick experiences the highs and lows of celebrity and does what he can to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker General.
It was written and created by Claire Downes, Stuart Lane, Ian Jarvis of The Outlaws and The Job Lot, with Noel and Jeremy Dyson of League Of Gentleman as script consultants.
The cast also includes Tamsin Greig, Hugh Bonneville and Greg Davies, and will appear on the service from March 1.
Noel will begin filming series 16 of the Great British Bake Off for Channel 4 this spring, which he co-presents with Alison Hammond.
It comes after Noel admitted what drives him ‘absolutely livid’ on the set of The Great British Bake Off – and that includes Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
The presenter, his co-star Alison Hammond, 49, and the judges return to screens this week with a host of new contestants for series 15.
Noel has revealed that he is as passionate about the program as ever, and feels particularly ‘protective’ of this year’s bakers.

The TV personality recalled how he burst into tears when he was told to send one of them home.
In an interview with The Guardian he said: ‘There are some very special bakers in the tent this year. Somehow the standard keeps getting higher.”
Noel continued: “These incredible young bakers are much better than they should be for their age. It’s a vintage year. One of the best so far.
‘I am fascinated by the people. I feel protective of them. When Paul and Prue are hard on them, I’m absolutely livid. It’s terrible when they leave. This year I was particularly fond of one bakery. When I had to send them home, I cried.’
