Noah Schnapp from Stranger Things reveals he has a summer job as a lifeguard ‘just for fun’

Noah Schnapp admitted that when he is not on the set of Stranger Things, he works hard at a separate summer job. 

The 17-year-old explained during an interview with Flaunt that he has a short-term job as a lifeguard, adding that the work has ‘kept me grounded.’ 

Aside from working on the upcoming and last season of the hit Netflix show, he also stated that he has been accepted to The University of Pennsylvania.

The talented actor opened up about his summer gig, adding that, ‘It’s kind of a ‘just for fun thing.’ 

The Bridge Of Spies star expressed that although he is on one of Netflix’s biggest shows, ‘I’ve kind of grown up with a normal life and normal friends and stuff outside of Stranger Things, so it’s kind of kept me grounded.’ 

Noah recently celebrated his monumental high school graduation and has plans to attend his ‘dream school,’ The University of Pennsylvania, to study business.

While he will continue to pursue his passion for acting, he gave an explanation as to why he wanted to attend college. 

‘Acting was just kind of repetitive, and I wanted to try something new,’ Noah stated to the publication.

Noah stated that his fellow co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, also his similar feelings and plans. 

‘Millie Bobby Brown is doing the same thing with her schooling, she’s kind of learning about other things. I thought it would make more sense to do something different. And business was a pretty clear next thing for me.’ 

Along with putting school as a big focus, the actor talked to Variety how acting will still be a big part of his life.

‘I love acting. It was a hobby. It’s still a hobby. It’s so fun. I love stepping into any character’s shoes and just belting my heart out, whatever the scene is, so I’ll never quit that,’ he said. 

‘But it’s fun to explore different things. I’d love to direct and produce and write and be an entrepreneur and do all these different things.’

 Other ventures: Besides acting, Noah has ventured into launching his own vegan hazelnut spread called TBH, or To Be Honest; pictured in 2020

Noah is not only a star on the screen, but has a dedicated following of 4.8 million subscribers on YouTube and 27.3 million fans on Instagram. 

He opened up to Variety about having such a major prominence when it comes to being a media influencer. 

‘It’s definitely fun. I’d say I’m the most active on social media in the cast, and pretty engaged with my fans. Honestly, I love it.’

‘Social media, it’s a great way to be able to connect with them and even though it can be super transparent sometimes and they know everything about me, it’s okay, because my fans are amazing, and they’re super protective,’ he added.

Before he turns 18 later this year in October, Noah has already launched his own vegan hazelnut spread called TBH, or To Be Honest, in 2021. 

He told Flaunt, ‘It’s always been a passion of mine-health, and the planet, and being environmentally conscious. It’s always been something I’ve cared about.’ 

The star will soon be stepping back into the shoes of Will Byers to film the fifth and last season of Stranger Things. 

‘The Duffers are saying for next season that they’re going to focus more on Will and build that storyline. I think that’s super exciting,’ he told Variety.
